A Love Letter to Arena PvP

Dear Gamer,

I fell in love with Bloodline Champions. I spent countless nights in WoW arenas. I was there when Battlerite felt like it might bring the genre back. And I watched each one fade — the servers go quiet, the queues get longer, the communities scatter.

Nebulagon started because I couldn't let it go. The feeling of landing a perfect combo, of reading your opponent's cooldowns, of pulling off a clutch 1v2 — nothing else in gaming comes close. I wanted to build something that captured the magic of those best days, not as a clone, but as a new home for the people who still miss them.

This is a solo indie project, built from scratch with the community in mind. It wasn't polished graphics or a AAA studio budget that made BLC special — it was the gameplay. The tight, responsive combat. The mind games. The feeling that every win was earned. That's what I'm chasing. Every hero, every ability, every mechanic is designed around the same philosophy: pure skill, meaningful choices, and combat that rewards mastery.

If you ever queued 3s at 2am, if you ever lived for the outplay, if you've been waiting for the genre to come back — this one's for you.

Questions & Answers

Is this really a solo project?

Yes. One developer, built from scratch in TypeScript with the Phaser engine. Every line of code, every hero design, every balance pass — all me. Community feedback drives the direction.

When can I play?

The game is in active development with playable builds available to Discord community members. A free Steam demo with AI opponents is up next, followed by Steam Early Access. If you've been waiting for the next great arena PvP game since Battlerite shut down, it's almost here.

What platforms?

PC first (Windows via Steam). Mac and Linux support are on the radar depending on demand.

Will it be free to play?

Yes. Nebulagon will be free to play at launch. Revenue comes from cosmetics only — avatars, titles, and skins. No gameplay advantages for sale, ever. Early supporters can grab a pre-release sale for exclusive closed alpha access.

How is this different from Battlerite?

Nebulagon is built on the same design philosophy as Battlerite and Bloodline Champions — skillshot combat, rounds-based, no farming — but with its own identity. If you loved BLC's depth or WoW Arena's competitive intensity, you'll feel right at home. 8 elemental heroes, an energy/EX system, and a combo-driven kit design that rewards creativity. Think spiritual successor, not clone.

Can I help with development?

Absolutely. Join the Discord. Playtest, report bugs, suggest balance changes, share hero concepts. The best arena PvP games — from BLC to Battlerite — were shaped by their communities. Nebulagon is no different.
